Cat Hitch Hiker – safe!

ROVING geriatric cat Muddy survived a 30-mile brush with death after becoming trapped in the engine of a car.

Unsuspecting Liz Ridgway heard mystery meows after returning home from a day on the road, and after she scoured the garage for a stray, her son Sam climbed under her Honda Civic and caught a glimpse of the adventurous fur ball. He was unable to reach it, so firefighters had to come to the rescue by tearing apart bits of the vehicle. And when the shaken feline emerged, it turned out to be Muddy, the 16-year-old pet of Liz’s neighbours.

The grey tabby is thought to have climbed up the car’s wheels into the warm engine compartment on Wednesday morning and clocked up the miles as Liz drove from Elburton to Derriford and on to Yelverton.

Muddy’s journey then took him from the Dartmoor town and into Plymouth city centre before he made his presence known just yards from his home.

Dear Karen

I’ve just realised that I haven’t sent you any updates on the kitten I had from you last year (Karesama Firefrost, known as ‘Hector’).

I really have to thank you for Hector: he is strong and healthy and he has turned into the most handsome, gentle and friendly cat I’ve ever met. Plus he retrieves toys!

I thought you might like the attached picture.

Hi Karen
Here’s a couple of photos of George (Babur) showing how laid back and so obviously helpful around the house he is as a great aid to DIY and housework. Now just over a year old, our beautiful lilac baby is sometimes very elegant and sometimes just like a baby elephant. He has settled in very well, and now gets on well with our lady Bengal Bo – and they travel around the house at a great speed together, alternating who is chasing who. He hasn’t demolished too many Christmas decorations yet although a piece of tinsel was a good toy for a while (under supervision). He has taken a liking to new leather handbags and in particular their straps – which he has found very tasty – leaving his own personalised toothmark signature on the straps!

He really is part of the family, and everyone who visits wants to take him home with them.

Thank you for letting us have such a beautiful kitten.

Claire Lovell’s beautiful boy Champion Karesama Silver Seaxanas had a wonderful day out again at Cambria Cat Show. His second time out in the Grand Class and his second win. As ever he was so laid back about the whole day all he wanted was lots of cuddles.

Congratulations to Claire and well done Dillon it was wonderful to be able to give him a big cuddle again.
